This effort calls for planned, short term power outages on campus to make necessary updates. OSU and Pacific Power will provide advance notice and back-up power resources to minimize the impact of these short-term outages.
The next planned outage will be held July 16-18, 2023. In addition, there will be a planned outage affecting buildings along SW Campus Way on July 18. See affected buildings below.

The following buildings will be without power during the outage:
The following buildings will experience limited electrical service interruptions and will be without power for approximately two hours at the start of the project (5 to 7 A.M.) and two hours at the end of the project (approximately from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M.):
There will be a planned power outage beginning Thursday, July 16 starting at 5 A.M. and lasting until Saturday, July 18 at 7 A.M. so that Pacific Power can replace switches and cables that feed various buildings along SW Jefferson Way. This is the last of the electrical grid updates planned for SW Jefferson Way; upgrades will move to switches and cables along SW Campus Way later in 2023.
*IT is working to programmatically address restarting computers for people using Remote Desktop. They will be following up with users that are known to be impacted to let them know what to expect.*

The following buildings will experience limited electrical service interruptions and will be without power for approximately two hours at the start of the project (Thursday, July 16 from 5 to 7 A.M.) and two hours at the end of the project (Saturday, July 18 from 5 to 7 A.M.):
During these service interruptions, we expect that most employees’ work schedules will not be impacted. However, hourly classified employees and salaried non-exempt classified and unclassified employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules during these temporary interruptions.
